Small Dean Viaduct HS2 – C2-C3 Wendover
he Small Dean Viaduct, located near Wendover in Buckinghamshire, forms a key structure within the HS2 C2–C3 section of the new high-speed rail network. Carrying the route over the existing Chiltern Main Line and the A413, the viaduct represents a critical interface between new and operational transport infrastructure.
Bauer Technologies, in joint venture with Keller Ltd (BKJV), was appointed by EKFB on behalf of HS2 Ltd to deliver the large-diameter bearing pile foundations supporting the permanent structure. Constructed within chalk geology and in close proximity to live rail and road networks, the works required meticulous planning, advanced construction techniques, and seamless collaboration to ensure safe, precise and programme-aligned delivery.
