Belfast Harbour D3 Berth Development
The Belfast Harbour D3 Berth Development forms part of a major investment programme to enhance the capacity, resilience and operational capability of one of the UK's busiest commercial ports. The project involves the construction of a new quay wall and associated marine infrastructure, supporting Belfast Harbour's continued growth as a key gateway for freight, logistics, travel and international trade.
BAUER Technologies was appointed by GRAHAM, on behalf of Belfast Harbour, to provide specialist relief drilling to support the installation of 118 large-diameter tubular steel piles forming the new combi-wall quay structure. Faced with challenging ground conditions and complex installation requirements, BAUER developed an innovative, bespoke under-reaming solution that preserved the original design, improved constructability and delivered significant programme, commercial and sustainability benefits through close collaboration with the wider project team.
